The Golden Hat Is Headed Back to Norman

The Golden Hat is returning to Norman but it did not exactly come easy. Here is how the story played out in Dallas, Texas as Oklahoma defeated the Texas Longhorns.

The river is running red! The Sooners held on to beat the Longhorns 34-30 and improve to 6-0.

The Longhorns kicked a field-goal to take a 30-27 lead with just under 1:20 left in the 4th quarter and it looked as if the Sooners’ were defeated, but Dillon Gabriel had other plans.

On arguably the biggest drive of his career, Gabriel rose to the occasion and gave the Sooners a 34-30 lead with just under 15 seconds left. Gabriel threw 4-for-4 with 58 yards and the game-winning touchdown.

With the win over Texas, we will be watching to see if the Sooners jump into the top-5 in the AP Poll.  Via ESPN, the team also now has a 73% chance to make the College Football Playoffs.

With the bye week now approaching, the Sooners shift their focus to Dillon Gabriel’s former team, UCF, back in the Palace on the 21st.
