Oklahoma Track and Field went up to Chicago (except for the men’s 4x400m team who went to Clemson) last weekend for the Windy City Invitational and the weekend that probably have all the coaches going crazy from excitement! A solid amount of PRs from both the men and the women!
I’m not going to go athlete-by-athlete to grade how I thought they did, the reason here is because I wasn’t able to watch this meet since no one had it for streaming and I wasn’t in Chicago to watch it!
So instead, I scored the meet while keeping up with the Live Results!
Let’s start with the Men’s Team: OU Men’s scored 82 points and finished 4th behind Wisconsin (104 points), Stanford (103 points), and Indiana (85 points).
Had a solid performance and below is the list of PRs (personal bests) from the team: Alajuwan Robinson, 60m: 6.71 Fernando Morales, 800m: 1:50.33 Isaac Barrera, 800m: 1:52.07 Jordan Gledhill, 1 Mile: 4:08.22 Colin Caso, 1 Mile: 4:28.34 Colin Caso, 5000m: 14:47.66 David Warmington, 60H: 8.03 Kristo Simulask, 60H: 8.37 Colton Rhodes, Pole Vault: 4.98m (16′-4″) Nikaoli Williams, Long Jump: 8.06m (26′-5.5″) | This was a Program Record Ricky Smith, Long Jump: 7.28m (23′-10.75″) Brandon Green, Long Jump: 7.02m (23′-0.5″) Jayden Louis-Charles, Long Jump: 6.46m (21′-2.5″) Tucker Smith, Shot Put: 18.55m (60′-10.5″)
Great overall performance in Chicago, but like I stated earlier… we sent 4 athletes to Clemson. Here’s how that went- Zarik Brown- 46.40 Muzuri Mattar- 47.10 Richard Kuykendoll- 48.00 Gage Hensey- DNS
Not terribly great as individuals, but as a 4x400m team… they did set a program record in the 4x400m and finished 3rd in the meet with a 3:03.71 Here are the splits: Brown- 46.242 Kuykendoll- 45.840 Hensey- 45.995 Mattar- 45.627
Very solid showing looking at it from a points perspective!
They scored 140.5 points and finished 2nd (17 extra points would’ve won them this meet)
Here’s the list of the PRs (personal bests) from this weekend: Eva Kubickova, 60m: 7.40 Ashonti Warner, 400m: 53.39 Alyia Green, 400m: 57.40 Sierra Williams, 800m: 2:08.93 Edita Sklenska, 1 Mile: 4:55.73 Gabi Barrera, 1 Mile: 4:54.73 Yazmine Wright, 1600m: 4:37.76 Yazmine Wright, 3000m: 9:07.62 Erin O’Brien, 3000m: 9:52.90 Erin O’Brien, 5000m: 16:52.60 Gabi Barrera, 5000m: 17:00.27 Cassidy Bradshaw, Pole Vault: 4.07m (13′-4.25″) Pippi Lotta Enok, Long Jump: 6.06m (19′-10.75″) Agur Dwol, Long Jump: 5.59m (18′-4.25″) Jasmine Akins, Triple Jump: 12.57m (41′-3″)
The women’s team started in the Top 25, dropped to 49th, then dropped to 55th, and are now sitting at 54th. A good overall team performance in Arkansas might get them right back in the thick of being ranked in the Top 25!
