Sooners fall to #2 Kansas 79-75

Another tough loss for the Sooners this one against Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse. Oklahoma played good, just not good enough. In the second half, Kansas did not make a field goal for 13:41. While not making a field goal for 13:41 the Jayhawks scored 17 points from the free throw line. Sooners led the game with 5 minutes left 71-61 before Kansas went on an inevitable run. With 0:42 left in the game, Kansas took the lead. Sooners played very well but Kansas was just too much in the end. Credit to Porter Moser for the amazing game plan he had in this game. Sooners were able to keep the crowd very quiet until about 4 minutes left. Oklahoma did a great job taking Gradey Dick out of the game. Dick had 8 points and 5 of them came from the free-throw line. Sooners also did a very good job against Jalen Wilson who had 17 and 10 of them came from the free-throw line. Hard to beat a team when they get 40 free throws. To sum it up, the Sooners played really well but did not have enough.

Grant Sherfield had 25 points in this game. Sam Godwin had 12, 10 of which came in the first half. Milos Uzan had 11 points and 5 rebounds. Tanner Groves had 10 points and 10 rebounds, Groves went 0-5 from the 3-point line. Jalen Hill had 9 points and 5 rebounds and played very well defensively. CJ Noland played a good game with 6 points. Sooners next take on West Virginia on Saturday, January 14th. After that, they will get Oklahoma State in Stillwater. Sooners have to win these next two games in my opinion to move them to 3-3 before getting Baylor, TCU, and Alabama. Oklahoma is now sitting at 1-3 in conference which puts them 6th in the Big 12.
