Sooners destroy #2 Alabama to get a massive win

The Sooners won 93-69 against the #2 team in the country after getting beat by 27 last time out against TCU. This was an absolutely massive victory for Oklahoma. The Crimson Tide led the game for a total of 29 seconds today. The Sooners came out hot and got to an early 22-14 lead 10 minutes into the game. The Sooners kept up their terrific play throughout the first half and went into halftime leading 50-33. In the second half Alabama cut it to just an 11-point lead with 16:15 left in the game. 2 minutes later, the Sooners got the lead up to 20. After that, it was all Sooners for the rest of the way. Oklahoma kept potential All-American and lottery pick Brandon Miller to just 11 points on the day. The 24-point victory for the Sooners is the largest margin an unranked team has ever beaten a top-two team by.

The Sooners big 3 of Tanner Groves, Jalen Hill, and Grant Sherfield combined for 70 points on the day. The combined 70 points from those 3 outscored the entire Alabama basketball team. Grant Sherfield had 30 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds. Sherfield shot the three ball very well today going 4-5 from downtown. In the past 3 games, Grant Sherfield totaled 0 points in the second half, today he had 12. To keep it simple, the Crimson Tide had zero answers for Sherfield today. Jalen Hill played amazing today finishing with a career-high 26 points, Hill also had 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Hill was incredibly efficient today going 9-11 from the field and 2-2 from three. Tanner Groves had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, Groves also recorded 3 blocks. Groves played excellent today going 5-7 from the field and 1-1 from three. Milos Uzan did not miss a shot on the day and recorded 5 points and 3 rebounds.

This is an amazing win for the Sooners to put in their back pocket before returning to conference play. The Sooners will next take on Oklahoma State at home on February 1st at 8 pm.
