Sooner Bats Wake Up

The Sooners looked much more comfortable at the plate in their third game of the season. Alex Storako who transferred in from Michigan made her Sooner debut and was excellent going 5 2/3rd innings and settling in very nicely after a turbulent first inning. Storako ended the night with one walk and 6 strikeouts. Alyssa Brito and Haley Lee were the offensive stars of the evening. Two former transfers (IYKYK) took charge at the plate and opened up a barrage that lead to the Sooners first run rule of the season. Brito had two long at-bats early in the game which resulted in a fly out and a walk but the third broke the game open with a bases clearing double for 3 RBI. Lee finished the evening off with the Sooners first HR of the season in walk off fashion. She also added a single for a really good night at the plate. She added an excellent defensive night behind the plate for good measure. You could see the entire team was looser and having fun tonight. Storako is fiery in the circle and isn’t afraid to show emotion. The Sooners fed off her energy all night and made some good plays behind her. Kiersten Deal made her debut in relief, retiring the only hitter she faced on one pitch.

The Sooners return to action at 9:00 pm central against Washington on Saturday night on Flosports. https://www.flosoftball.com/events/6767341-2023-mark-campbell-collegiate-invitational
