Oklahoma picked up a preferred walk-on commitment today from Jakeb Snyder, a 5′ 10″, 175 lb ATH from Bixby, Oklahoma. Snyder was a key factor in the absolute dominant stretch of Bixby Spartans football throughout his high school career. Snyder only lost one game in his high school career, that being to Jenks this season 38-35, in which the Spartans answered back winning the semi-finals against Jenks 28-14. Snyder was dominant for the Spartans this season on both sides of the ball, having 53 receptions for 453 yards, as well as 4 interceptions and 14 pass deflections. Snyder had 51 total tackles on the season, 38 of which were solo. Snyder was the lead punt returner for the Spartans, having 8 returns for 219 yards, 27.4 yards per return. On the season, Snyder accounted for 9 touchdowns.
Snyder wasted little to no time before committing to the Sooners. Coach Brandon Hall offered him on the 4th, and Snyder committed only 12 days later. I have no doubt that if given the opportunity, Snyder will be the next great PWO for the Sooners. Maybe just maybe, Snyder’s commitment could lead to a few other Bixby Spartans committing to Oklahoma. Those Spartans would be fellow ATH speedster Cale Fugate, and the Hasz brothers who are currently committed to Arkansas.
