The Roundup – Start of Spring Edition
Insider news and notes to start off spring ball, including some preliminary depth chart battles, body transformations, and hope for the defense.
First official national and regional rankings have come out for the Indoor Track and Field season
Your Oklahoma Men:
Not Ranked Nationally
1st in the Midwest Region
Ranking is above Nebraska, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, and Tulsa who all have really good specific things they do for their program. So this is a very good start for the men’s team!
Yes it’s not a national ranking, but I’d imagine we’re right there about to break into the Top 25 with another great performance by this team like we saw the last 2 weeks.
Your Oklahoma Women:
25th Ranked Nationally
3rd in the Midwest Region
Behind Iowa and Minnesota (neither are ranked nationally)
Very interesting start for this super young team from OU. Usually you don’t see a squad ranked ahead Nationally if they’re significantly behind Regionally. But I’ll take the ranking, and I would imagine Coach Langford as well!
Lots to build on for the Indoor Track and Field teams for OU!
Next meet: Texas Tech Open & Multis
The #2 Ranked Texas Tech Men’s team and the #10 Texas Tech Women’s team are going to be there for OU to be able to measure how they rank against one of the best the Big 12 Conference has to offer! Also will be nice to see how our multi-event athletes look for the season as well!
When I find more information on that meet, I will post it here!
