Injuries
WR Drake Stoops
Injury: Shoulder Separation, up to 4-6 weeks.
Notes: Glad it wasn’t a dislocation. Could have been much worse. However, I’d likely mark him as doubtful for the game against SMU. While it’s not necessarily “serious”, it is very painful at times. Playing receiver involves so much movement at the shoulder that it’s hard to limit movement throughout the week and in-game. May be a deal where they hold them out until Cincy. That being said, Drake Stoops is his daddy’s son and we know his story. – Barry Wise
LB Dasan McCullough
Injury: Ankle Sprain, up to 4-6 weeks.
Notes: Looks like a pretty rough ankle sprain. Going to be a couple of days before they have a beat on something like that. Possible he plays but I’d be doubtful on that one as well. Ankle inversion sprains can linger for 6 weeks. The rehab is pretty straight forward but it can certainly cut down your explosiveness and make you more susceptible to other foot/ankle and/or knee injuries. – Barry Wise
QB Davis Beville
Injury: MCL Tear, 6-9 months. [Venables has since mentioned ankle injury]
Notes: I see folks saying it isn’t a huge deal but MCL’s are still major ligaments that if torn will require surgery. Don’t yet know what that looks like but that injury situation looked pretty rough. – Barry Wise
