I know a lot of Sooner fans are wondering whether or not Dillon Gabriel decides to remain a Sooner, enter the NFL draft, or step away from the game altogether. As a Sooner fan,I am one of the biggest Dillon Gabriel supporters. Sooner fans are all patiently waiting for his decision. Gabriel’s decision has a major impact on what next year could look like.I would like to see him back for another year cause I believe that he and this team next year have what it takes to get back to a big 12 championship.
This season, Dillon Gabriel threw for 2,925 yards, 24 touchdowns with only 6 interceptions, while also gaining 298 yards on the ground. Gabriel is a guy who will consistently put up stats in a system he fits well in with Lebby. I think it’s fair to say Gabriel isn’t a guy you can rely to go win you a game but he also is a guy who can make plays and contribute to help you being able to win a lot of games.
In the class of 2023, OU has the Future QB1 and alpha dog Jackson Arnold coming. He is a guy who can possibly be a game changer and could come in and come in and compete for the starting job immediately. If Dillon Gabriel decides to remain in Norman, it would bode very well for the Sooners next years in regards to the competition aspect of the quarterback competition.
