Colton Vasek, edge defender for Austin Westlake is a 2023 commitment that the Sooners will have to work hard to keep until signing day but is certainly worth the fight. Vasek offers a unique blend of size, strength, and “feel for the game” that has not been seen in recent years on the defensive side of the ball.
At approximately 6-5 and 230 pounds, Vasek holds his weight well and appears very sturdy on film. His balance, footwork, and understanding of setting up certain moves make it apparent that he has received strong coaching over the years.
When using objective measures like Shot Put, Vasek has put up 49′-9 which falls under the 52′-4 that Myles Garrett posted in 2014.
